I have just spoke to good friend of mine who is part of the BN setup in Cornwall and she has informed me that after 40 years Perranporth Beach has now been banned from naturist use because of the MOD who owns part of the beach felt it was in its best interests due to perverts being seen around that area misbehaving! They went on to say that it was the Naturists using the beach that in-directly attracted the perverts to the beach!! So with one beach (Perranporth) that we have now 100% lost and with Eastney looking very fragile and the moment (depsite our amazing and wonderful efforts), i feel rather sad today!  Embarrassed

I would love to hear your views on this!?

Well, as with many things, it's always the small minority who spoil it for everyone else.......

I wouldn't be too downhearted yet. The case at Perranporth is vastly different to that at Eastney. Firstly, Perranporth is MoD owned land whereas Eastney is private so a corporate interest need not migrate across. Secondly, the MoD at Perranporth cited a problem with inappropriate goings-on on the beach combined with the prospect of their young trainees seeing such things. No such problem exists here.

At Eastney we have not been banned from using the beach although we expect that any residents of the proposed new apartments may seek to have us moved on. Our campaign to ensure the continued naturist use of the beach at Eastney will certainly take into account the fact that it has been used for naturism continuously for at least 50 years and that nudity in public is not in itself illegal.

It is such a shame that society in this country is not mature enough to cope with nudity in the same way that the rest of Europe (and many other parts of the world) do. It is because of this that nudity and sex are inevitably, and wrongly, associated. Thus, people having sex on the beach are assumed to be naturists and vice versa.

Thats exactly the problem, the mindset is changing, albiet slowly, but the ones we have to put right firsat are the miscreants who reinforce the nude=sex minset. If you see any inapproriate behaviour on a beach, do something, don't pretend its not happening.
"What can I do" I hear you ask, well you can;
Shout at them and draw attention to their misdeed, and bring shame upon them.
Take photgraphs of them, or pretend to with a mobile phone, even if it doesn't have a camera.
Go over to them and tell them to stop, if you feel its safe to do so.
Do anything, but don't let them drag naturism into the gutter.
