There's another Cabinet meeting today - Guildhall Executive meeting room at 12:00.  The agenda can be viewed on PCC's website - http://www.portsmouth.gov.uk/yourcouncil/15556.html

The item of interest is Land at Fort Cumberland...  This is, on the face of it, about an administrative appropriation of land from the Site of Importance for Nature Conservation to allow for the widening of the access road to the development site.  Look at bit deeper and you'll find that the Deed of Release that is tied to the strip of land is still under negotiation.  I've seen the latest draft of this new Deed of Release and the clause concerning access to the beach makes for uncomfortable reading.

I'll be speaking at the Cabinet meeting.

Looks like the Council and QQ could end up at loggerheads again...dont be surprised if threats of legal action come from QQ.

Michael,
Thanks for keeping us up to date. Things don't look to good to me. The impression I get is that QQ will gradually wear down the council with legal costs it cannot afford. Also some seem to think that it is just to keep a beach open for a handful of nudists, despite many local people objecting on the basis that another part of Portsmouth will covered in concrete.

May I thank you and the committee for your ongoing representations on our behalf.

John
